All we are saying ... is Give Church a Chance!
My wife and I grew up going to church but as we went away to college, got married and started our adults lives, we simply stopped going. We call it our seven year "vacation" from church. It wasn't that we didn't believe in God, but it wasn't like we were really searching for Him either.
We moved to Florida, and for some strange reason we had this feeling we should "give church another chance". Maybe it was because they had free child care, and as new parents, we needed the two hour break. I have no idea why, but one Sunday morning we woke up and drove to the nearest church.
My life wasn't immediately changed. Church itself doesn't change your life, but it can be the first step in the right direction. All I can tell you now is that I am a new person and have a completely new outlook on life. My priorities are where they should be (most of the time), and I have a new found purpose to life.
Recently I saw a You Tube Video from well known atheist and magician Penn Gillette of Penn & Teller. He makes the comment that "if you are a Christian, and you believe that you have the keys to eternal life ... how much do you have to hate someone, to not tell them about it?"
All we are saying, is give church a chance like we did. Use Easter Sunday as an excuse to go ahead and take that first step and visit a local Southwest Florida Church. There are suggestions on this website, or simply visit the church closest to your home like we did, it was the best decision we ever made.
